On July 22, 2019, the FCT hosted an Introduction to Civil Asset Recovery Workshop for the Barbados Office of the Attorney General. In attendance were the Office of the Solicitor General (SG) and Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). The training was attended by 21 attorneys, including Chief Parliamentary Council, Deputy Solicitor General and Director of Public Prosecutions. The purpose of the training was to improve the attorneys’ knowledge of civil recovery legislation and best practices. SFCA shared case studies from the region and the FCA presented case law relating to recovering ‘fruits from the forbidden tree’. The Barbados AGO requested further civil recovery mock trial-style training and provision of legal texts.
